Is Local the Way to Go LSN Mobile Thinks SoLSN Mobile Inc., a mobile media company that connects brands and consumers via local mobile content, has just unveiled its new ‘Local on the Go’ mobile app.

The new app replaces the firm’s current Local News app. It is designed to provide city-specific local news, weather, and sports. The app is free to use on any iPhone or iPad and can be downloaded from the App Store.

“Local on the Go aggregates premium local content for most U.S. cities, allowing users to select, save, and navigate to content in their preferred location,” a provided statement reads.

Using GPS to automatically pinpoint their locations, users can zero in on locales of their choice. They can also search by city name or zip code. Features for users include breaking and top stories, as well as up-to-the-minute sports and weather information.

“Content in the app is customizable based on user preference,” according to the company. “For example, users may select their favorite sports or news provider or display topics in order of priority by city. Users also have the ability to share content directly from the app via SMS text messaging, email and social media. LSN Mobile plans to introduce additional local content in future releases of the app.”

LSN Mobile CEO Louis Gump has confidence that consumers are deeply interested in what’s happening both now and nearby.

“Not only do consumers have a strong emotional connection to their communities, but they rely on local information to decide what to wear each day, to check the scores of their favorite teams or to plan what to do for the weekend,” says Gump.

Local on the Go is currently available for iOS and can be used on any iPhone or iPad. It can be downloaded from the App Store. Current app users will be “seamlessly upgraded to the new app.”
