iPhone Production May Move to IndiaAccording to the latest rumors out of Asia, Foxconn — one of Apple’s most important strategic production and manufacturing partners — could shift some of its iPhone production work to India.

Taiwan-based Foxconn reportedly sees such a move as an opportunity to augment its output ahead of the anticipated unprecedented demand Apple will likely place on the company before the next-gen iPhone rolls out.

Foxconn Technology is in talks to manufacture Apple’s iPhone in India, government officials said, in a move that could lower prices in the world’s No.3 smartphone market where the U.S. firm trails Samsung Electronics and local players.

According to a report from Reuters, developing a workforce in India to build iPhones could potentially help Foxconn mitigate the impact of the soaring wage inflation now happening in China.
