Apple’s red hot iPhone 5 is expected to turn up in China within days. According to a report Thursday morning from the Wall Street Journal, Apple has finally jumped all regulatory hurdles to get the device introduced into the world’s most populous mobile community.
The release of Apple gadgets in China has lagged behind product launches in other countries. In September, the iPhone was launched in a number of countries including Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong, but not in China.
The WSJ says the repeated delays associated with the launch of the iPhone in China is in part due to “Apple’s need to cater to demand in the U.S. market as well as the country-specific tests and licensing necessary for a company to release a smartphone in China.”
Apple is still on pace to have the iPhone 5 available in 100 countries by the end of 2012.
