Intel Finds a Way to Mask Mobile Losses

Intel Finds a Way to Mask Mobile LossesOh, the things you can do with numbers.

In an attempt to downplay — or downright hide — its miserable failures in the mobile chip arena, Intel is now deploying what some call creative financial reporting tactics as a means to mask the significant losses of their mobile chip division.

In moving forward, Intel’s lackluster Mobile and Communications Group will be conjoined with its successful PC Client Group. The new name of the joint group is the “Client Computing Group.”

Intel, not surprisingly, doesn’t see this move as a tricky one.

“The new group was created to address all aspects of the client computing market segment and utilize Intel’s intellectual property to offer compelling customer solutions,” Intel said in a news release.
