The former queen of daytime television, Oprah Winfrey, is coming to Facebook. And the social media world is buzzing about it.
On September 8th, Oprah will allow Facebook users to turn the tables on her and answer questions in the one-hour Facebook Live streaming video interview.
According to published reports Friday, Oprah’s live segment will commence at 4:30 p.m. EST next Thursday. During the live segment, Oprah will personally respond to questions posted by engaged users on the Facebook Live event wall.
With little additional billing beyond “you might hear Oprah answer your question during the live show,” the Facebook world is geared up and fired up ahead of Oprah’s big splash on the world’s largest social networking hub.
Although one would think that Oprah must be new to Facebook given the publicity this one-hour segment is generating, Oprah Winfrey is far from a stranger to the platform. In fact, Oprah’s Facebook page has well over 6 million fans.
Incredibly, however, Oprah may be even more popular on Twitter, where she can boast of a staggering 7.2 million followers.
