Hulu Bringing ‘Plus’ Service to Select Android Phones

Popular video streaming service Hulu has announced that it will debut its “Hulu Plus” subscription service on select Android phones during the coming months.

At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Hulu CEO Jason Kilar announced the expansion of the Hulu Plus to devices running Android OS 2.2 and even provided a sneak peak of the Hulu Plus Android app during his presentation.

When Hulu Plus debuted six months ago, the company promised to include Android devices among the platforms for which content would eventually be optimized. With Hulu’s announcement this week, Android will join other Hulu Plus family members like Apple’s iPhone and iPad, not to mention PCs, Macs, he PlayStation 3 and even some Blu-ray players from Samsung.

According to Hulu Product Director Rob Wong’s post on Hulu’s official blog, Hulu Plus will be priced at $7.99 per month and deliver to Android users content from the company’s major broadcast partners like ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC.

Hulu plans to announce further details regarding the Android expansion once an official launch date is set and a complete list of Hulu Plus-enabled Android phones is compiled.
