Hotel Marketing Becoming More Dependent Upon SMSOur sister site mGamingWatch is out with a new report about the latest marketing trends profiled recently by  Promotion World.

According to the report in question, text message marketing is hot and only growing hotter when it comes to promoting hotels.

“Whether it’s spreading the word about last-minute deals or discounts on rooms, hotels of all kinds are going mobile,” explains report author Adam Groff.

Not surprisingly, Groff notes, “there’s no better place to look at hotel test message marketing than in the hospitality capital of the world: Las Vegas!”

And Groff has no shortage of example to point to in this regard. For instance:

  • Hard Rock Hotel and Casino “promotes its loyalty program via SMS by messaging recipients merchandise deals, hotel discounts, and other loyalty offers.”
  • Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino “rewards its online subscribers with mobile deals including free stays and casino game play money.”
  • MGM Mirage “tracks guest history so that it can text pertinent, customized promotions to its customers.”

And the list goes on and on.
