Hellboy Gets Boost From Player X Mobile Marketing

In yet another example of how the motion picture industry is
realizing the value of mobile marketing, mobile media firm Player X has secured a licensing agreement with Starz Media to create and distribute new mobile video efforts based on the upcoming Hellboy sequel hitting theatres next weekend.

Just this week, I’ve encountered four of my friends viewing movie clips (including the new Batman flick) on their phones. And I quickly learned that the clips were sent to them by other friends. This, of course, proves the viral affect of exclusive movie clips pumped ut through mobile channels.

Based on the deal announced regarding Hellboy, Player X will create and publish an extensive range of exclusive new mobile clips from the film. They will publish and distribute in all global territories except Asia through its distribution network of on-deck and off-deck channels that give it a potential audience of more than 1 billion people.

“The success we have had with our two Hellboy Animated movies proves that this is a franchise with multi-platform appeal, so we have high hopes for these new additions to the mobile offerings from a top company such as Player X,” said Mara Winokur, Starz Media VP, digital media and business development.
