Google Wallet Chief Bails on Search Giant

One of the most promising young leaders at Google has abruptly left the Internet search giant.

Google Wallet head Osama Bedier has, indeed, exited the company, Google confirmed today.

“We can confirm that Osama Bedier has decided to leave Google this year to pursue other opportunities,” spokesman Nate Tyler explains.

“He’s achieved a lot during his time here, and we wish him all the best in his next endeavor,” Tyler adds. “Payments are a big part of what people do every day, and we’re committed to making them easier for everyone.”

Bedier joined Google two years ago after a successful stint at eBay.

Google Wallet remains a key player in today’s emerging mobile payments industry, where eBay, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Square, and others largely dominate the field.
