To say Google + is off to a great start would be an understatement.
Practically still just weeks old, Google+ has already topped some 20 million unique visitors. According to the latest data from comScore, nearly two-thirds of those visitors are between the ages of 18 and 25.
63% of the total user base is male.
Incredibly, however, only one-quarter (about 5 million) of Google + users reside within the US. As it turns out, Google + is every bit the global phenomenon, capturing some 3 million users already in India alone.
The biggest US cities driving traffic and activity on Google + are New York, LA, and San Francisco.
Andrew Lipsman, vice president of industry analysis at comScore, says he has never seen a social network or any similar web-based entity – not even Twitter – take off so quickly.
“It is definitely the fastest ascent to 20 million visitors that I can think of,” Lipsman said.
Still, with Facebook enjoying more than 750 million registered users, Google + has a long way to go before it becomes the top dog, not just the cutest new puppy on the social networking block.
