It’s out with the old and in with the new. At least that’s the case for Google Analytics, the venerable yard-stick for your website’s traffic.
Google confirmed on Tuesday that it will on Wednesday – yes, today – permanently pull the plug on the old version of Google Analytics.
Of course, we’ve known for some time that this day would come. Almost one year ago, Google rolled out the red carpet and unveiled a new real time analytics platform. But, all the while, Google kept the old version as an option to be used by old school Google Analytics users.
So judgement day, in the world of Google Analytics, has finally arrived. And fortunately for those who fear change and a complex new platform, you really don’t have much to worry about.
In addition to a vast new array of useful information and resources, the revamped tool gets with the times and makes understanding what works – and what doesn’t work – about your website all the more evident.
Concerned? Worried? Too nervous to log in to Google Analytics?
Lucky for you, Google has outlined all the new features and how to use them on the official Google Analytics Blog, which can be accessed here.
