Google has updated its TV Remote app for Android, delivering new features like voice search support.
Use your Android device as a Google TV remote! You can also send videos and web pages to the TV, and even use your own voice to search for content.
In the past, restrictions born of older hardware didn’t allow users to search through movies and television program listings with voice prompts.
According to CNET, which reviewed the refreshed app first hand, the latest version of Google TV Remote also includes a new D-Pad navigation.
The app update isn’t groundbreaking at all, but it is refreshing to see that Google is still paying attention to this app.
With Google I/O 2013 a little over one month away, there’s a good chance Google’s remote app update could be foreshadowing bigger things to come.
The Google TV Remote app is available now at no charge in the Google Play store. The app is compatible with devices running Android 2.2 and up.
