Since 2006, it’s been a trusted and reliable source of breaking tech news and comprehensive feature pieces.
But this may be the end of the road for Gigaom as the platform finds itself among the growing number of publishing outlets struggling to pay the bills.
This week, Gigaom’s management team posted a note to its readers thanking them for their loyalty and expressing doubt about the site’s future.
“Gigaom recently became unable to pay its creditors in full at this time,” the message reads. “As a result, the company is working with its creditors that have rights to all of the company’s assets as their collateral.”
For the time being, “all operations have ceased” and Gigaom’s team says they aren’t sure what the immediate future may hold.
