Girl Scouts Are Smart Cookies When it Comes to Mobile Payments

Last month, Mobile Marketing Watch profiled a recent report from Forbes highlighting the evolution of payment platforms and the industries gaining invaluable resources from today’s leading payment solutions providers.

One of the case studies cited was a Girl Scout troop in San Gorgonio, California. The young ladies in the troop saw “stunning results” after turning to PayAnywhere, a leading provider of mobile payments solution.

The goal, it goes without saying, was to lean on the mobile credit card processing solution in hopes that it would provide a spike in fundraising through increased buying opportunities for consumers.

Not only did the effort pay off with flying colors, it prompted five other Girl Scout councils from around the U.S. to similarly forge into the mobile payments arena.

PayAnywhere says on its official blog that five additional councils have selected PayAnywhere as their mobile payments processor, including the San Diego Council, Colorado Council, Heartland Council in Kansas, Cactus Pine Council in Arizona and the Northern Illinois Council.

Collectively, the newest councils represented more than $50 million in cookie sales in 2012.
