It’s a good day on Wall Street.
Business news leader Forbes has unveiled a new smartphone application powered by Palm’s webOS mobile operating system.
Many have wondered what has taken Forbes so long to roll out this long-awaited, fully functional app that gives the Forbes.com experience a comprehensive presence on the mobile web. Yet, as we’ve seen from many savvy mobile marketers elsewhere, sometimes its wise to hang back, see what the competition is up to, and then introduce your well-crafted application.
It seems that is what Forbes has done.
The app, which brings the best of Forbes.com to your phone, is now available for download from Palm Pre’s Palm App Catalog. For now, the app is free and features:
* A customizable “My Stocks” area to track stocks and indexes
* A “prepare for offline” function to download articles for offline reading
* Most e-mailed and most popular stories
* Integrated e-mail and social sharing services, including Facebook, Yahoo! Buzz, Digg, and Redditt.
According to Jeff Bauer, Product and Creative Director at Forbes: “The Forbes.com app for Palm webOS is the first application to deliver deep business content for this platform, and we expect it to solve a core business need.”
