Better late than never for Flickr.
The popular online photo sharing service has finally unveiled its own official iPhone app.
The app, which is expected to be a vital marketing tool for some small business owners, is available as a free download and provides users with all the familiar features, comment and search options that have already contributed to Flickr’s growing success.
Last month, according to Flickr’s Camera Finder graphs, the iPhone officially surpassed the Canon Rebel XTi as the top camera on Flickr.
While there will likely be numerous advantages born of the app to marketers and regular users alike, some have already begun expressing disappointment with the lack of emphasis on social networking, particularly difficulties associated with uploading photos to Twitter.
For now, at least, news of the Flickr app is a welcome announcement for its millions of users.
