Big news from both Fast Company and Target this week.

Fast Company has confirmed tomorrow’s launch of a new website – Co.Labs, which will be a resource, as well as a creative and collaborative playground, for the growing developer community.

“The site will also bring readers behind the curtain to see how some of the most exciting tech projects get done, offering a digital home for those interested in creating tech,” Fast Company announced Wednesday.

To celebrate Co.Labs’ debut, Fast Company has partnered with Target to launch the Co.Labs + Target Retail Accelerator.

Beginning Friday, developers will vie to create a new, unique mobile experience for Target and claim a $75k grand prize. The contest, we’re told, will span several months and will be covered extensively by Co.Labs, with great entries being highlighted and discussed.

“Innovation is core to Target’s culture and strategy, and we are always looking for new ideas to enhance the shopping experience for our guests,” says Casey Carl, Target’s president of multichannel and senior vice president of enterprise strategy. “We’re proud to partner with an innovative publication like Fast Company, and we can’t wait to see what the developer community brings to the table through the Retail Accelerator.”
