Facebook Home is a hit… at least in terms of downloads out of the gate.
Earlier this month, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg introduced “Home,” Facebook’s new offering that replaces the standard interface on an Android phone, modifying the appearance and function of the device to unique user-determined settings.
So far, the app-centric interface and that centers one’s device around a user’s contacts, is off to a strong start. In the short time that it’s been available, downloads of the Facebook Home launcher has topped 500,000.
Not bad for an opening week. But reviews, on the other hand, haven’t been as impressive.
“Facebook Home received an unusually large number of one-star reviews shortly after launch,” TNW reports, “and that trend has continued. At the time of publishing, 5,617 of the total 10,905 reviews (52%) were one-star ratings.”
