Facebook is looking to quickly turn around its fortunes in the mobile ad space by ramping up efforts to make a successful showing with its latest course of action.
According to freshly published reports based on knowledgeable inside sources, Facebook will start testing ad targeting in early September by “using people’s phone numbers and email addresses.”
“Inside Facebook reported that the option was temporarily (and probably accidentally) visible in the Power Editor tool,” Business Insider reported Friday morning.
This doesn’t, however, come as a major shock given that a representative for Facebook recently told Ad Age that “Facebook may soon allow ad targeting by email, user ID and phone number.”
Of course, the social media giant says that this won’t violate users’ privacy and that information will be protected.
