On Monday, Facebook announced that its App Center is now available to everyone in the United States, Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.
The expansion represents a significant push into new geographic regions for the social networking giant.
People in these countries will now see the App Center bookmark on the left side of their home page on Facebook.com and in the Facebook apps for iPhone, iPad, and Android.
According to an announcement from Facebook on its Newsroom page, approximately 80% of people active on Facebook each month are outside the U.S. and Canada.
Not surprisingly, Facebook says that the global rollout of the App Center will continue over the coming weeks so that more people “can discover high quality games and apps with friends.”
As of this writing, Facebook has begun accepting submissions from developers with translated apps for the App Center.
