On Thursday, Discover confirmed a new partnership with PayAnywhere, a mobile payment solution provider that’s quickly becoming one of the giants in its industry.
Discover Financial Services will begin offering PayAnywhere merchants the ability to accept PayPal at the point of sale.
This means that PayAnywhere merchants will be able to accept PayPal and will be able to tap into PayPal’s customer base – a base that has swelled to more than 55 million active customers in the U.S. alone.
“PayAnywhere is steadfastly committed to making mobile payment acceptance as simple and seamless as possible,” says Marc Gardner, founder, president and CEO of North American Bancard, who owns and operates PayAnywhere.
“Now, by offering PayPal acceptance, we’re not just allowing merchants to accept payments whenever and wherever, we’re helping them grow their revenue opportunity through a whole new form of currency exchange right on their POS devices,” Gardner continues. “Just as importantly, we’re making the mobile transactions process smoother than ever for both merchants and their customers.”
PayAnywhere merchants will be able to start accepting PayPal at the point of sale for card-present transactions later this month.
