Apple rarely makes a marketing mistake. But during the 2012 summer Olympics Games on NBC, the iPhone maker allegedly missed its mark with the new series of commercials created to promote the company’s leading mobile devices.
Amidst the backlash of viewers who grew tired of the sub-par quality commercials, which has been run incessantly since the summer games got underway, Apple has apparently pulled the plug on them.
On Tuesday, TBWA/Media/Arts Lab – the marketing firm that handles Apple’s TV commercials – confirmed the company’s withdrawal from Olympics commercial air time.
As of this writing, however, Apple won’t confirm that unhappy viewers are the reason for the ads being yanked.
