Although details are limited at this hour, it appears that Comcast subscribers experienced a widespread email outage overnight.
In the early morning hours of Friday, tweets and Facebook posts regarding email access among Comcast subscribers began to emerge.
The volume and intensity of messages persisted throughout the night and into the start of Friday’s work morning.
Frustrated by malfunctioning email clients and the inability to access their email, many users turned to social media to vent and lash out at Comcast for not providing timely, consistent updates on the perceived problem, which appears to have impacted users around the nation.
Although the problem appears to have now subsided for many, it remains to be seen how many users are still prohibited from accessing their email.
As of this writing, the cause of the problem isn’t known.
