Chitika Data Points to Dominant Tablet Usage for Just One Platform

Chitika Data Points to Dominant Tablet Usage for Just One PlatformWith all of the intense competition observed across the tablet space today, surely the gap between iOS and Android tablet usage is narrowing, right?

Wrong, says Chitika. According to the firm’s latest research, the iPad retains a massive tablet usage lead at 84%.

Since Chitika Insights’ last study on the tablet market, Apple iPad users’ share of U.S. and Canadian tablet Web traffic has increased by nearly two percentage points, from 82.4% in May 2013, to 84.3% in June 2013 – now the iPad’s highest share since the beginning of 2013.

Chitika says these numbers mark the second consecutive month of iPad usage share gains, which is particularly impressive when you consider the explosion in popularity and sales of Android-powered tablets.
Once again, however, Amazon’s Kindle Fire and Samsung’s Galaxy Tablet are still in second and third place, respectively.

“While there are a number of players in the tablet marketplace, Apple clearly dominates the market,” Chitika asserts.
