Microsoft creator Bill Gates says tablet users are frustrated with Apple’s iPad.
The reason? According to the billionaire philanthropist and software pioneer, the iPad still lacks some of the functionality found in traditional PCs.
Gates sounded off on the iPad while appearing this week on CNBC with Warren Buffett.
In particular, Gates was asked about the trend of tablets overtaking PCs as well as the growth of the cloud.
Gates took the opportunity to assert that Windows 8 “is revolutionary in that it takes the benefits of the tablet and benefits of the PC” and supports both.
“With Windows 8,” Gates explained, “Microsoft is trying to gain share in what has been dominated by the iPad-type device. But a lot of those users are frustrated; they can’t type, they can’t create documents, they don’t have Office there.”
