This weekend only, you can trade in your iPad at Best Buy for a $200 gift card at teh electronics retail giant.
Beginning today and lasting through Saturday, customers can take advantage of the promotion, which is available at all Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores that accept trade-ins. The company, we’re told, will recycle all tablets.
All Things D confirmed that the surprisingly quiet promotion is only for customers who can trade in a working iPad 2 or 3. In return, they will receive at least a $200 gift card. As you might expect, customers also have the option of upgrading to an iPad with Retina display.
Best Buy said it decided to launch this promotion based on the success of its iPhone trade-in event last month. Though Best Buy wouldn’t disclose how many people participated in the program, the company said there was an “overwhelming response” and that its initial June 1 event was the single biggest day for its trade-in business.
So if you’re wanting to dump an old iPad you’re no longer using in return for a couple hundred bucks good for some new gear or goodies at Best Buy, this weekend could provide a great opportunity to do just that.
