Barnes & Noble Makes Social Media Move with NOOK

MikeR10 years ago02 mins

Barnes & Noble announced Monday that Pinterest is now available on its signature series of NOOK: NOOK HD, NOOK HD+, NOOK Tablet and NOOK Color.

According to the venerable book retailer and digital media giant, all of these devices will now come preloaded with Twitter and a new Facebook for NOOK app.

Pinterest and Twitter apps are also now available for existing customers to download.

“Pinterest has long been one of our most requested apps and we are thrilled to bring it to NOOK, along with the Twitter and Facebook for NOOK apps,” explains Claudia Romanini, Vice President of NOOK Apps at NOOK Media LLC. “Our goal is to bring NOOK users the very best in social media and these apps will bring to life the rich sharing experiences that Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter offer.”

In addition to Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter, NOOK’s social media app catalog is growing and diverse, with other leading titles like Flipboard, Stumble Upon, Taptu and more available for free in the NOOK Store.

Although the Nook Media business has begun to slow substantially in recent months, Barnes & Noble pledges its steadfast commitment to the channel and believes growth will pick up over time.
