Apple’s 128GB iPad Goes On Sale

As expected, Tuesday brought with it the launch of Apple’s new 128GB iPad with retina display.

The new iPad 4 effectively doubles the previous maximum capacity offered by the market-leading touchscreen tablet.

Available in black or white, the suggested retail price of the 128GB iPad Wi-Fi model is $799, while the cellular-capable model will set you back $929.

Although it remains to be seen how strong demand will prove to be for this ultra-capacity iPad, there is a well-known high demand for storage these days in mobile, and so there’s an excellent chance that the 128GB iPad will be an instant hit.

“With more than 120 million iPads sold, it’s clear that customers around the world love their iPads, and everyday they are finding more great reasons to work, learn and play on their iPads rather than their old PCs,” Phillip Schiller, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing said last week. “With twice the storage capacity and an unparalleled selection of over 300,000 native iPad apps, enterprises, educators and artists have even more reasons to use iPad for all their business and personal needs.”
