In case you missed it, Apple on Tuesday started sending out media invites to its October 22nd event where the next-generation iPad is expected to be formally unveiled.
The announcement is scheduled to take place at 10 a.m. PST at San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater.
“We still have a lot to cover,” the media invite reads, clearly suggesting that Apple has more to show off this year than its two new iPhones.
“The focal point of the gathering will be the latest updates to the company’s iPad line, but the new Mac Pro and OS X Mavericks will likely get some stage time as well, I’m told,” said John Paczkowski of AllThingsD last week when rumors first surfaced of an October 22nd media event.
Although the hardware on the new iPad is expected to be upgraded singnificantly since the last mondel, the rumor mill is intensely persistent in its reports that the iPad 5 will deliver the same Touch ID sensor launched with the iPhone 5S.
