Apple’s 2013 Worldwide Developer’s Conference won’t commence for at least six more months. But Apple has a lot of prep-work to do before unveiling its next major iOS refresh at the convention.
As a result, it shouldn’t shock anyone to learn that testing has apparently begun on iOS 7.
Developers first began contacting The Next Web earlier this week to announce their discovery of references to a new iPhone identifier which leads all parties to iOS 7.
One developer showed us that Apple has been testing hardware relating to a new ‘iPhone6,1′ identifier, powered by a device running iOS 7, which is expected to be released by Apple in the middle part of this year.
It goes without saying that no detailed information is yet available on what iOS 7 can – or will – be able to do. But evidence suggests that iOS 7 has been in the works since late last year.
Most expect iOS 7 to launch in summer 2013 at the start of Apple’s WWDC 2013.
