Monday brought with it the long-awaited release of iOS 6.1 to the public. Following one developer beta release after the next, the public version was said to have been finalized over the weekend ahead of today’s general public launch.
The update is showing up in the OTA updating service as of Monday morning. It also appear in iTunes if you look for updates.
What we can tell you at the moment is that iOS 6.1 contains bug fixes, LTE support for more carriers, security improvements, and a fix for the touch screen glitch on the iPhone 5 – a glitch causing the display not to register excessively fast swipes.
Also added to the mix is the ability to purchase movie tickets (via Siri) through Fandango, and updated iPod music controls on the lock screen.
