Apple Maps Out a Better Future for iOS

Apple Maps Out a Better Future for iOSApple’s native mapping application is getting better by the day.

And we literally mean by the day.

Apple’s routinely panned iOS mapping application has been on the receiving end of plenty of criticism since its launch, prompting even Apple CEO Tim Cook to admit that Apple simply got it wrong.

But the iDevice maker has been working day and night to improve every attribute of the application.

Apple Insider reported Monday that at least once every 24-hours, Apple now refreshes, augments, or corrects mapping data in its database.

“Over the past month, Maps were being updated once a week (every Friday) for me, but now, that has improved even further,” a knowledgeable source is cited in the report. “Over the past few days, I’ve noticed an update occur every single day at 3 a.m. Eastern.”

In the past, Apple was notorious for its slow-moving efforts to update the app and incorporate user feedback into the app. If yesterday’s report is accurate, it would seem that those days are indeed long gone.
