Apple Launches Mac OS X Betas to the Public

Apple Launches Mac OS X Betas to the PublicOn Tuesday, Apple extended the OS X beta testing process to the public through the Beta Seed Program.

This effort represents a significant shift in business as usual for Apple, which hasn’t been nearly as willing to make such opportunities publicly available in the past.

The OS X Beta Seed Program gives users the opportunity to run pre-release software.

“Test-drive beta software and provide quality and usability feedback that will help make OS X even better,” Apple says.

Those who wish to participate can sign up now here.

“Join the OS X Beta Seed Program and accept the Beta Seed and Confidentiality Agreement,” Apple explains. “Apple will provide a Beta Access Utility for your Mac, which gives you access to pre-release versions of OS X in the Mac App Store Updates panel.”
