Apple, HBO Partnership ExpectedAccording to The International Business Times, Apple is close — very close — to closing a deal with HBO, the premium cable provider behind some of the most popular programming in all of entertainment.

If sources in-the-know are truly knowledgeable about the matter, it sounds like Apple will be among the launch partners for HBO when the network launches it new streaming service next month called HBO Now.

HBO and streaming partner Major League Baseball Advanced Media are working to have the standalone service, called “HBO Now,” ready to launch in April in conjunction with the premiere of the fifth season of “Game of Thrones.”

HBO Now will be available to consumers without a cable subscription for $15 per month.

“HBO’s corporate parent, Time Warner Inc., will rely on a whole new line of distributors (e.g., Apple TV, Roku, Xbox, PlayStation, Amazon, etc.) to help market HBO Now to an estimated 10 million U.S. broadband subscribers who do not pay for a cable TV bundle,” the IBT report reads.

Although the deal reportedly isn’t yet done, it could be wrapped up any time now.
