Apple Has a 'Lot More to Cover' at Today's iPad EventApple CEO Tim Cook is now on stage at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco, California.

Cook started today by reiterating that the new iPhones (iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c) sold nine million units by the end of the launch weekend, making it the “biggest iPhone launch ever.”

After a brief video package highlighting the retail frenzy that followed the iPhone launches, Cook cited a number of press reviews that called the new flagship iPhone 5s Apple’s best work to date.

According to Cook, 200 million devices were upgraded to iOS 7 in five days. All told, 64 percent of Apple’s devices are presently running iOS 7, he added.

Cook concluded his opening remarks by revealing that there are now more than 1 million apps in the App Store, all of which have been downloaded more than 60 billion times.

iOS developers have earned in excess of $13 billion.
