After months of speculation about the pending arrival of the iPhone 5, Apple on Tuesday confirmed that October 4th will bring with it the formal introduction of the 5th generation Apple smartphone.
As of this morning, invites from Apple are turning up at all the major media outlets. And this time around, Apple’s media event will skip its usual hosting venue in San Francisco. The iPhone 5 announcement will come in Cupertino, California at the company’s Town Hall auditorium.
The event, which will likely be led by new Apple CEO Tim Cook, will commence at 10 A.M. PST.
Based on the text spread across the formal invite, Apple says “Let’s talk iPhone,” an obvious and not-so-subtle confirmation that the long-awaited next generation iPhone will finally take center stage one week from today.
At this time, it isn’t clear what – if any – additional refreshed Apple products may simultaneously be released.
