Apple Confirms Friday’s International Launch of iPad 2

Millions of people around the world are celebrating the news confirmed by Apple on Tuesday morning.

It now appears that Apple will indeed move ahead with its originally planned global launch of the iPad 2 this Friday, March 25th.

In recent days, both Apple fans and industry analysts alike doubted the company’s ability to meet the March 25th launch date given the massive product shortages that have been logged.

Not withstanding lingering supply issues at home, Apple says all systems are go for Friday’s launch, including a start to online ordering at 1:00 am.

“While competitors are still struggling to catch up with our first iPad, we’ve changed the game again with iPad 2,” Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs stated in a release. “We’re experiencing amazing demand for iPad 2 in the U.S., and customers around the world have told us they can’t wait to get their hands on it. We appreciate everyone’s patience and we are working hard to build enough iPads for everyone.”

Although recent tragic events in Japan will delay the nation’s launch of the second generation tablet, beginning this Friday, the iPad 2 will become available in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.K.
