Apple CEO Tim Cook Talks Gay Pride

Apple CEO Tim Cook Talks Gay PrideOn Thursday, Apple CEO Tim Cook made public headlines across the world with a very private admission.

“While I have never denied my sexuality, I haven’t publicly acknowledged it either, until now. So let me be clear: I’m proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me,” Cook wrote in an open letter to Bloomberg.

“Being gay has given me a deeper understanding of what it means to be in the minority and provided a window into the challenges that people in other minority groups deal with every day,” Cook wrote.

The news comes as Cook sits at the helm of the world’s foremost (and most profitable) tech company.

Not surprisingly, Cook’s personal candor drew widespread praise from around the world, most of which was expressed on social media.

Former President Bill Clinton and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella were among the most prominent figures to express words of appreciation and respect for Cook after the Apple chief executive’s letter was published.
