For those of us who want less content and more ads… there’s an app for that.
Thanks to Apple, all the mobile ads that you could ever dream of are now available in a convenient gallery display.
“Great ads. On-demand. In your pocket,” Apple boasts of “The iAd Gallery” app, which has been dubbed a “celebration of advertising.” The newly released app features iAd campaigns from some of the world’s top brands and their advertising agencies.
The iAd Gallery gives users access to a selection of the many ads that have run in a plethora of iPhone and iPad apps. Apple has even made it possible for users to “browse” the full scope of available ads, a unique feature that may be helpful to would-be advertisers looking for inspiration from creative in-app advertising concepts.
The app, which is free, is certainly a first of its kind for Apple – or any other company for that matter.
And it’s already gaining some download traction – not bad for an app that offers no content other than the content of Apple’s myriad iAds.
