For a brief and unfortunate – though, some say, hilarious – moment this past week, the Editor’s Choice feature in Apple’s App Store promoted a pornographic video clip.
That sort of thing doesn’t happen every day in Apple’s iOS ecosystem. And it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen again.
You see, how it all happened in the first place is that Vine – the video-clip-sharing app from Twitter – was recently tapped for the esteemed “Editor Pick” list by Apple. And since Vince seems to have acquired a so-called “porn problem,” Apple briskly shared the same problem.
“A human error resulted in a video with adult content becoming one of the videos in Editor’s Picks, and upon realizing this mistake we removed the video immediately,” said a Twitter representative today. “We apologize to our users for the error.”
Apple, however, isn’t taking any chances with this problem happening again in the App Store. As a result, Vine has been dumped as a top Editor’s Pick.
