Hungry or thirsty? Not only is there now an app for that, there’s a whole categories for apps like that.
As the world learned Tuesday, Apple is adding a new “Food & Drink” category to its already teeming App Store.
The effort, of course, comes in response to more users wanting to tap into their iDevice for feedback and suggestions relating to dining and cooking.
“Currently,” a report from MacStories reads, “the App Store doesn’t provide a specific category for these types of apps, which have been typically listed under Lifestyle by their developers.”
That all changes in a few weeks when the new category turns up.
According to Apple, the new category will include “apps that help users cook and bake, mix drinks, manage recipes, find new restaurants and bars, and learn what their friends like to eat and drink.” Food & Drink won’t include diet, grocery shopping, coupon clipping, or food-related game apps.
Are you excited for the new category or do you think all related apps should have remained in the Lifestyle category?
