Apple Announces Conference Call This Morning to Talk Cash

Late Sunday, Apple issued a press release confirming a Monday morning conference call to discuss the company’s stockpile of $100 billion in cash.

Apple’s conference call on Monday at 9 a.m. Eastern, 6 a.m. Pacific will focus on what the company plans to do with the money moving forward.

“We’re actively discussing uses of our cash balance, and have no specifics to share,” Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer said during January’s earnings call. “In the meantime, we continue to be disciplined with cash, and are not letting it burn a hole in our pockets.”

The announcement Sunday has fueled speculation that the iPhone maker will announce a widely rumored dividend for shareholders. In a matter of hours, the company “will announce the outcome of (its) discussions concerning its cash balance.”

Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, will join Peter Oppenheimer to host the call.

Shares of AAPL last traded Friday at $585.57.
