Peter Misek, a senior Apple analyst with Jefferies & Company, has returned from his trip to Asia, where he claims to have laid eyes upon some of the components of Apple’s rumored forthcoming iTV.
Misek believes commercial production of the “iTV” will begin in May or June.
But as Fortune magazine reported, Misek’s “evidence” should be taken with a grain of sale.
His evidence, however, is pretty slim: small quantities of polarized films, filters, and IGZO components starting to ship to Apple’s Asian panel suppliers.
Misek’s other round of projections center on a sixth-generation iPhone, which he says all but certainly will arrive this fall – not summer, as some initially thought.
“We believe initial iPhone 5 build expectations are approaching 50 (million),” Misek said. “Our expectations for the 5 include a 4″ to 4.3″ screen, wider form factor, A6 processor, and refreshed design. We believe iPhone 4S sales are particularly strong and have shown lower than normal seasonality.”
Following his return home to the states, Misek raised his Apple (AAPL) price target to $699.
