Apigee, developer of an intelligent API platform for digital business, has just introduced Apigee Edge SMB, which is a new package of the company’s Apigee Edge API management product designed for the requirements of small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs).
Apigee Edge SMB provides smaller organizations with a powerful software-as-a-service (SaaS) product for managing, securing, scaling and analyzing an unlimited number of APIs (application programming interfaces) as part of a growing digital business.
APIs, according to Apigee, now represent a “key technology for businesses in today’s digital world.” Behind every mobile app, smart device and connected experience sits at least one API, enabling software applications to exchange data and “talk” to other applications.
“Today, every business – regardless of size – needs to be a digital business,” said Chet Kapoor, Apigee’s CEO. “The digital economy moves fast, and no company can afford to wait. With our new package for SMBs, we are providing an easy way for smaller organizations to get started managing and measuring their APIs with proven API management technology, so they can participate in the digital economy now.”
