Amazon: Music is Ready for 'Prime' Time

Amazon Music is Ready for 'Prime' TimeOn Thursday, Amazon made a major addition to Amazon Prime. And it’s a sweet tune, indeed, for music lovers.

With Prime Music, Prime members have what Amazon calls “unlimited, ad-free access to over a million songs at no additional cost to their membership.”

Prime Music includes “tens of thousands” of albums.

Prime members can choose exactly which songs and albums to listen to, or they can select from an unspecified but large number of “expert-programmed” Prime Playlists.

Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s founder and CEO, says Prime Music is the “latest great addition for Prime members and we think they’re going to love it.”

Prime members in the U.S. can begin listening to Prime Music online now. Kindle Fire HD/HDX devices will get Prime Music in an automatic, over-the-air update. Customers can also download the latest Amazon Music app in the Android and iOS app stores to access the new music streaming platform.
