This week, Amazon inched closer than it has before to Apple, it’s burgeoning rival in the mobile space.
On Thursday, Amazon introduced the Amazon Instant Video App, which will let customers stream and download Amazon Instant Video movies and TV episodes from their video library on their iPhone or iPod touch.
All told, some 30,000 titles from Prime Instant Video available through the app.
“Our customers tell us they want the convenience of being able to watch all of their movies and TV episodes, wherever they are,” says Anthony Bay, Amazon.com Vice President for Video. “Today we’re excited to extend our ‘buy once, enjoy everywhere’ approach to iPhone and iPod touch users, giving customers the chance to enjoy more than 140,000 titles from Amazon Instant Video and more than 30,000 titles from Prime Instant Video anytime, anywhere.”
The Amazon Instant Video App for iPhone and iPod touch is available for free from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch.
