94% of Top U.S. Advertisers Now Using Mobile

94 of the top 100 U.S. advertisers have now mobilized their marketing efforts by implementing some form of mobile marketing in the past year.

The data was shared Wednesday in a new report from ad monitoring service Competitrack.

Of these 94 mobile-minded companies, all have run mobile ads in the last 9 months.

The data, however, confirms that mobile marketing isn’t just being utilized by Amazon, Toyota, Google and other behemoth brands. All told, 64% of the top 1,000 brands have now used mobile to advertise during this period.

Advertisers have been driven to create unique content for their mobile ads. Of the 20,000 mobile creatives in our archives, 85% were created specifically for mobile devices rather than being repurposed from other media.

The top 10 mobile advertisers (defined by the number of unique creatives running) are as follows:

  1. Amazon
  2. Toyota
  3. Google
  4. Verizon
  5. AT&T
  6. Microsoft
  7. Bank of America
  8. Home Depot
  9. Progressive Insurance
  10. Target

“Top categories of advertisers using mobile advertising include retail, entertainment & media, technology, travel & tourism, and automotive advertisers,” Competitrack reports.
