3dcart, a web-based eCommerce software provider, tells MMW that the company is launching a new template marketplace.
The theme store, which now includes a program for web designers to sell their own 3dcart-designed themes for a 70 percent revenue share, will bring more than 80 new templates to 3dcart store owners.
The new marketplace gives graphic designers the opportunity to create eCommerce templates using the latest technologies including HTML5 and CSS3. If a third-party template meets 3dcart’s requirements, it will then be promoted inside the marketplace to more than 16,000 internet retailers.
“We’ve opened the marketplace to designers in an effort to provide our customers with more options when choosing a theme for their eCommerce websites,” says Leonardo Albarracin, partner manager for 3dcart. “The marketplace also generates a steady stream of revenue for our partners by promising to deliver a 70 percent return every time one of their accepted themes is sold.”
According to details shared in a press release this morning, 3dcart is also releasing revised online documentation for the 3dcart template engine in order to facilitate the theme creation process for web designers.
“Later this quarter,” the announcement reads, “3dcart will make available a completely table-less framework to allow for responsive templates to be designed for the 3dcart platform.”
