Twitter has published its top trends for 2010. Not surprisingly, social networking gurus demonstrated their affinity for mobile technology via the popular micro-blogging platform.
In the “technology” category, Apple captured four of the top ten trends (three of which are in the top five):
- Apple iPad
- Google Android
- Apple iOS
- Apple iPhone
- Call of Duty Black Ops
- New Twitter
- MacBook Air
- Google Instant
So tremendously popular was the Apple iPad in 2010 that the search topic breached the boundaries of its category to place #6 on Twitter’s list of the top ten overall trends of 2010. Astonishingly, the iPad was only to be outdone on Twitter by the Gulf oil spill, FIFA World Cup, the movie “Inception,” the Haiti earthquake, and the “vuvuzela” instruments used at the World Cup.
Google Android, however, placed a close #7 in the overall top ten.
