Apple is losing one of its longtime employees and a staple of the company’s PR division.
Apple confirmed last night that Katie Cotton, who has been with Apple for nearly two decades, is retiring from her position as VP of worldwide corporate communications.
“Katie has given her all to this company for over 18 years,” Apple spokesman Steve Dowling said in a written statement. “She has wanted to spend time with her children for some time now. We are really going to miss her.”
Cotton is reportedly leaving Apple on very good terms.
Cotton told Re/Code that choosing to leave Apple was a monumentally difficult decision. “This is hard for me,” Cotton is quoted. “Apple is a part of my heart and soul.”
Apple has not yet named a success for Cotton, who is still with Apple as of this writing.
